This was an installation made in collaboration between Fraai-werk in Rotterdam and Trichromatic Studio in Detroit. I worked as an intern at Fraai-werk from February till May 2018
During my time at Fraai-werk I worked as an UX and interaction designer on our multisensory experience that we showcased on the Salone del Mobile in Milan: “Hello Stranger”. The goal was to let people meet in a bias free environment.
We gave users a special glove and placed them on either side of a fabric wall. The people had to find each other and when they did they would feel each others presence. This made for a sensory experience and as they moved along the wall the lights would react to their positions. This way for people to get to know each other was a very welcomed idea and a lot of people swapped information when they saw each other for the first time after meeting in Hello Stranger.
I have been working on user and technological research. During this time I got engaged with a lot of technological features I did not know about before and I learned a lot about quick prototyping and design argumentation. Other than that I engaged with a lot of inspirational designers from all over the world in Milan and had the privilege to get a valuable piece of experience that I will never forget.
